Journey - from Despair to Hope "Living with Head and Neck Cancer"
|
The University of Southern
California IGM Art Gallery, in association with the
Head and Neck Cancer Support Program, is presenting a symbolic photographic
journey that starts with a metaphoric face to face encounter with cancer and
concludes with hope eternal in a tomorrow with dignity. Head and Neck Cancer is
sometimes called the "Cancer of the Lonely" because of the way it attacks the
body and so much of what we take for granted - chewing, swallowing, speaking,
causing survivors to often retreat from social interaction. So this weekend in The Group Room, instead of focusing on the clinical aspects of Head and Neck cancers, we've
decided to bring the creative and interpretive experience to
life.
